METROPOLITAN TULSA URBAN LEAGUE

The Lockett-Up Foundation began its relationship with the Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League in 1997 when it donated $5,000 to service the Tulsa Community Youth Ranch where the funds were used to help support the operational expenditures of the Reading Remedial/Enrichment Program. The Foundation increased its commitment in 1999 and 2000 when the Tulsa Urban League became the recipient of the Lockett-Up Foundation and NFL Charities $15,000 annual grants for the Reading Remedial/Enrichment Program.

Kevin has also donated his time by being on-site at the Youth Ranch on several occasions during his off-season in the NFL. During his visits, he would talk to students (ages 14-16) in the “Summer Youth Enrichment Program” and students (ages 8-12) in the “Summer Youth Leadership Program.” His presentation focused on the importance of a good education, self-esteem, peer pressure, gangs, attitude, self-respect, and respect for parents, adults and other peers.
